What is IFC?

The IFC is the governing body of seven fraternities on campus. All fraternities are required to be in attendance through their president and their IFC representative in order to conduct business. The IFC is run and managed by an executive board made up of at least one member from each IFC chapter. Meetings are held in parliamentary procedure and include reports from various IFC chairmen. The IFC endeavors to bring together the myriad SU fraternities in order to strengthen inter-fraternity brotherhood, benefit the campus and local community and coordinate cross-organizational activities and events.

IFC is short for Inter-Fraternity council, and is the governing body for all of the Fraternities on Salisbury’s campus, with the exception of the Divine Nine Fraternities. IFC's executive board is made up of one older member of each of the member fraternities in order to make sure that each group is equally represented. The IFC is also responsible for recruitment, inter Greek events, and even has a judicial board and a penal code in order to keep Greek life fun and safe for everyone.

A note from the IFC President:

Greetings,

On behalf of the Salisbury University IFC, I would like to welcome you to our website.

The role of Salisbury University’s Inter-Fraternity Council is to be an intermediate, neutral party for any fraternal activities or issues. As a council we cumulatively represent the men of each chapter here on the campus of Salisbury University; while holding each one of those men and their chapters to a certain set of standards that ensures each fulfill their individual and group potential. We promote values of brotherhood, scholarship, service, leadership, and citizenship, all while helping to regulate inter-fraternity relations. Through these high standards held by the IFC it is our goal that Greek Life here at S.U. will remain in the positive eye of the individual members, Greek chapters, the university, as well as the city of Salisbury, MD for years to come.

Whether you are a parent, a prospective fraternity member, or currently affiliated with one of our chapters, I hope our website can serve as a vital resource to you. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me and I will reply as soon as possible within a timely manner.

Sincerely,

Andrew Haislip
