Recruitment Overview

Potential new members must have at least a 2.5 GPA and 12 collegiate credits to be eligible to join a fraternity. Transfer students must now also have a 2.5 GPA from their previous school if they are interesed in accepting a bid from a fraternity.

 

  • Greek Life 101 Meetings-Periodically, Salisbury University will host Greek Life information meetings for those interested in joining one of our organizations here. Neither the fraternities themselves nor IFC are affiliated with these meetings, they are there as a resource for potential new members prior to the rush process. Emails concerning these meetings will be sent out periodically and they are mandatory to attend if you wish to accept your bid.

  • Meet the Brothers- All interested students are given the chance to learn about and meet with each fraternity on campus. This event generally kicks off the recruitment process.

  • Fraternity Interest- Meetings individual chapters can hold their own interest meetings that are open to any interested student. These meetings allow you to learn more about a specific chapter you may be interested in. Fraternities may also host off or on-campus events open to anyone thinking about rushing. Fraternities will also invite their rushees to an interview night the week of Bid Day.

  • Formal Bid Invitation- Formal invitations will be given out by fraternity members on a given date. Those who receive bids will be given 48 hours to decide if they would like to accept their bid.

  • Bid Day- Every one who would like to formally accept their invitation to an affiliated chapter will gather in Scarborough Student Leadership Center to sign their bid and be announced to the fraternity members.
